Samm is absolutely THRILLED to be playing Elle Woods in Legally Blonde The Musical! Samm was last seen as one of the critically-acclaimed Divas in Priscilla: Queen of the Desert in 2018. Her previous theatre credits include Pat in Kinky Boots, Molly Jensen cover in Ghost The Musical, Ann Darrow alternate and Cassandra cover in the original company of King Kong: Live On Stage, Waitress #1 and Sherrie cover in Rock of Ages, Jason’s Coleman’s Rhythm Of Life plus Spiegelicious, and original cast member of Rock Rhapsody: Music of Queen.
Samm has also been involved in various industry nights including Twisted Broadway, Home Grown, Sydney Musical Theatre Cabaret Festival, Broadway Unplugged and Theatre People Sings. Samm also works with Trumpet Events and Southern Beat Productions on various corporate events throughout Melbourne and Sydney.
DIRECTOR / CHOREOGRAPHER
Michael won the Green Room award “Best Choreography in a Musical” for Bring it On the Musical in 2018, and for Loving Repeating in 2015. His work has also received other Green Room Award and Australian Dance Award nominations.
Michael’s directorial credits include NINE the Musical, and Herringbone. His musical theatre choreographic credits include the world premiere production of Georgy Girl, A Little Night Music, Company, Pacific Overtures, CrossXRoads, NED – A New Australian Musical, Avenue Q, Our House (Workshop), My Fair Lady, and concert versions of Pippin and Milk and Honey.
For The Production Company he has choreographed The Boy from Oz, DUSTY, and West Side Story. For WAAPA he has choreographed Sweet Charity, Chicago, and Bring it On the Musical, and Spring Awakening for the VCA.
His television credits include Dance Boss (Channel 7) and So You Think You Can Dance (Channel Ten). Cabaret shows include CAKE (Adelaide Cabaret Fest), The Petticoat Soiree, Yummy and Triage (The Butterfly Club).
He has conceived choreographed and directed the dance theatre works SELF (featuring original music by composer Jack Earle and starring Rohan Browne), Hollywood Honky Tonk and Now & Then.
As a performer Michael appeared in CATS (RUG), Fame The Musical (GFO), Moonshadow (Yusuf Islam / Cat Stevens), Singin in the Rain and Pirates of Penzance (The Production Company).
As a teacher he is in high demand working and choreographing for many leading performing arts institutions all over Melbourne.
Katie Weston is a Melbourne based singer, actor, musician, composer and arts creative. She has a Master’s Degree in Contemporary Voice (Melb Uni/MCM), a Bachelor's Degree in Music Composition (VCA) and is an in-demand live vocalist and keyboardist, performing onstage and in studios across Australia and internationally. She is currently head-lining frontwoman in Uninvited: The Songs of Alanis Morissette at Chapel Off Chapel.
Her powerhouse vocals feature as front-woman and keyboardist for international corporate bands The Baker Boys, The White Tree and Lark Music. Weston is also a two-time award winning Lead Actress for the Music Theatre Guild of Victoria and her original alternative pop-rock EP Say The Word is on all digital platforms.
Weston is an industry panel judge for Take The Mic Australia country-wide singing competitions; she is an accomplished musical director (RENT, 2018) and busy youth theatre creative. She has composed two original musicals: Sugartown (2015) and her highly acclaimed Falling Forward (2019).
Weston’s theatre credits include: Vivid White Principal Swing (Melb Theatre Company), The Last 5 Years Cathy (KWM Australia), Jesus Christ Superstar Mary Magdalene (CLOC), Godspell Celisse (Melb Recital Centre), Frankenstein Australian Premiere (WMTC), Chicago Roxie Hart (WMTC), RENT Maureen (Whitehorse), Songs For A New World Woman 2 (45downstairs).
Weston is also a VCE classroom music and drama teacher, voice coach and produces live entertainment under KWM Australia. Katie is proudly represented by Ian White Management.
James Terry is well established and critically acclaimed producer of film, photography, events, and musical theatre. Recent productions include RENT (Chapel Off Chapel), Motown Live (2016-18 Tour),Spice Up Your Life (Midsumma Festival 2018) and Melbourne’s musical theatre Industry Night in partnership with Musical Theatre International (MTI) Australasia.
Newly branded James Terry ‘Collective’, this title represents, acknowledges, and celebrates the collaborative nature of live art and media. Coming up to 10 years in the industry, James has established an incredible network of clients including Disney Theatrics, The Production Company, Gordon Frost Organisation, Michael Cassel Group, Life Like Company, Melbourne Theatre Company, Victorian Opera, Arts Centre Melbourne, and more.
With extensive marketing experience, James is a video content developer for AKA Australia with recent work on Muriel’s Wedding, Mamma Mia, and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. His content sparks conversation and delivers excellent ratings for social media and broadcast. During his time as the Head of Digital Media for TheatrePeople.com.au, the website and social accounts reached #1 for theatre video content in Australia with multimillion views.
James also founded the company Take the Mic Australia that has embraced thousands of performers across the east coast in singing competition and music events. Established to embrace and encourage rising young talent, the company is in its seventh year and recently produced Disney’s The Lion King Junior, an Australian community theatre premiere.
James has worked extensively as a musical theatre performer and director, developing a strong passion and diverse range of skills in multiple stagecrafts. This enables James to transfer the knowledge to capture and develop exceptional theatre content through various media. With a limitless passion for the performing arts, James strives to showcase and celebrate the extensive talent that Australia continues to offer.
